Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.įor PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. I hope that this helps! Please let me know how you get on - You're the first person to ask me this so anything you find out will be really useful for anyone else with this question and I can add printing instructions to the description document. The layers are the same size as the ground layer but you can crop these and in some cases fit 2 layers on one piece of paper. I think the best thing to do would be to take the files to Staples and speak to them about your best option as it may work out better for you to print on A3 and cut them out - particularly where maps have multiple layers. It would be 3 pieces if you use 1cm = 5ft. If you would like full size as it is drawn (1" = 5ft) then you will need at least 8 pieces of paper (8.5" x 11") to cover the largest map. If you are printing then I would recommend using 1cm = 5ft to save on printing costs. The guys at Staples should be able to help you with that. As for printing them in pieces and placing them together, I'm not sure as every printer does this differently. The maps can be printed in any size as long as you use the "Fit to page" option for your printer. Thank you for purchasing the maps, I hope that you enjoy using them!
